Face Mask
Do you long for a radiant complexion that looks luminous and moist? Do you wonder how people get that amazing glow?
Face masks are a great part of the secret.
A quality face mask can help to gently exfoliate dead skin cells that leave the skin appearing dull and even flakey. There are many different types of masks. Some masks are pore cleansing and dry like a thin film that pulls on the skin. Other masks are moist and do not dry but rather coat and moisturize the skin. Some masks are cooling and soothing. All of these masks can be good when used properly for the right skin type.
SongCroft Naturals offers three face masks:
Coconut Milk and Honey which is a luxurious refining mask rich in precious ingredients that refine the pores and the soothes skin. This product contains calendula grown on our farm and hand-harvest with love. I can say I have met every calendula petal in this product. This is a lovely mask for those who are concerned about the size of their pores.
Rose and Gotu Kola Mask with Shatavari is absolutely amazing. This mask leaves skin smooth and delicious by uncovering the youthful radiance of freshness. Our Rose and Gotu Kola Mask is rich in nourishing ingredients and is amazing when it come to soothing the skin. Rose and Gotu Kola Mask is ideal for most skin types but is particularly helpful for dry, sensitive, rosacea skin types. This is the go-to mask for graceful aging.
Chocolate and Green Tea Mask is packed full of antioxidants and is amazing when it come to clarifying the skin. Chocolate Mud Mask is ideal for most skin types but is particularly helpful for oily, acne prone, seborreic skin types. Treat yourself to a chocolaty delight for your face! What can be better than a little self-care, chocolate and no calories!
Understanding Activators
While most masks that come as dry powders are simple activated with water, we encourage you to customize your skincare regime to exactly what you need. While water can be perfect to make masks for certain skin types, we have something better to offer.
Skin Replenishing Serum makes an excellent activator for a more gentle and nourishing mask. It can be coupled with the Rose Gotu Kola Mask for a very moisturizing experience. I often use this combination as I am concerned about dry skin as well as fine lines and occasional redness I get when I eat certain foods. Skin Replenishing Serum can also be paired with our Coconut Milk and Honey Mask for an amazingly cooling and calming mask. With naturally nurturing ingredients this combination will be slightly exfoliating yet the moisturizing effects will be increased. Chocolate and Green Tea Mask can also be paired with the Skin Replenishing Serum for a mask that draws impurities and contains antioxidant in a gentler way than when it is activated with water.
Frankincense and Rose Toner makes a great activator for any of our masks. My favorites are the Rose and Gotu Kola Mask and the Chocolate and Green Tea Masks. Precious ingredients with natural moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties only amplify those of the mask they are blended with. Rose and Gotu Kola blended with the Frankincense and Rose Toner is absolutely divine! This combination is great for every skin type. I personally use this mask combination at least twice per month. Frankincense and Rose Toner the Chocolate and Green Tea Masks is a decadent combination of moisturizing and drawing mask that feeds the skin while drawing out impurities. This is something that spa customers rave about.
Water, pure and simple, allows a mask to bring forward exactly what its ingredients offer and in some cases they will be more intense. For example, the Chocolate and Green Tea Mask is very drawing and clarifying when mixed with water. It will clean the pores and remove impurities from the skin. This combination is great for acne prone skin and skin with blackheads especially followed by Daily Shield Moisturizer.
I hope that this article is helpful and encourages you to take this important step towards your skin care because that is exactly what it is, skin care, and it does make a difference.
Until next time.
