A short primer on ingredients in our body care products.
Our philosophy is to use simple ingredients to achieve amazing results.
These plants are cultivated with great care and loving intention to bring the best in healing and nourishment to those who use them.
The most important step toward comprehensive and exact composition information is a complete declaration of the ingredients, as labeled on the products themselves or on their packaging. SongCroft Naturals has voluntarily fulfilled this requirement ever since it was founded.
Although it is not required in the US, we list our ingredients using the European International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) standard. INCI is a directory that lists all registered and tested ingredients in Europe. To be in compliance with this standard, the information given on product ingredients would be in a local language as well as Latin, at times even describing the same ingredient in multiple terms. SongCroft Naturals uses ingredients registered with INCI and lists them in English and Latin. By taking the time to include the Latin name, we are making sure that there is no confusion over the name of the plant–as common names can often be used to identify several different plants.
To achieve greater transparency and comprehensibility for consumers handling products, the INCI standard is now obligatory in all European countries for body-care products.
